La línea troncal fue inaugurada el 9 de marzo de 2009.  El corredor de 16.6 kilómetros está trazado por la Calzada Independencia – Gobernador Curiel, cruzando de norte a sur toda la Ciudad, desde el municipio de Guadalajara hasta Tlaquepaque. El servicio opera en el corredor Calzada independencia – Av. Gobernador Curiel, cuenta con carriles confinados de uso exclusivo para las unidades articuladas de macrobús y de vehículos de emergencia. Así mismo las 27 estaciones distribuidas en el corredor cuentan con dispositivos de seguridad que permiten su monitoreo las 24 horas al día, entre ellos se cuenta con un sistema de circuito cerrado de televisión y la presencia permanente de personal de seguridad privada. ___________________ The macrobús is a Rapid Transit Bus System (Bus Rapid Transit) that was created as part of the solutions of the Comprehensive Urban Development and Mobility Plan for the state of Jalisco.
